About Sennen and the Cove

Sennen is situated about a mile from Lands End and is recognised as the first and last village on the British mainland. Its main income comes from fishing and tourism which both play a vital part in the community. Major attractions are the three beaches, excluding the harbour beach both Whitesands and Gwenver are popular with surfers and many competitions are held each year for the more competent. Learners are encouraged to enroll at the surf school which runs daily during peak season.
The R.N.L.I. have a lifeboat station situated in the cove with both inshore and all-weather(The Norman Salvensen) boats ready for action 24/7. Both main beaches are patrolled by the life guards during the main months.
The village boasts two great pubs, the Olde Success and the First and Last, both do food all day during peak season and have live bands regularly. With fish and chip shop(Blue Lagoon), cafe(Breakers), food store(Olde Boathouse), post office and restaurant(The Beach), the locals and tourists are well catered for.
The coastal footpath walk will take you to the Lands End complex which has a full range of attractions for both adults and children, and every August the firework displays can be seen from miles away on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. Live outdoor shows have also become a feature over recent years.
